In 1996 she established The Nantucket Concierge knowing there was a need to offer visitors to the island more personal services. The Nantucket Concierge not only offered assistance with accommodations, restaurant and other reservations, but also event and wedding planning.
After five years, she was awarded the Build a Better Mousetrap award by the local S.C.O.R.E organization for creating a new business that was in demand in the tourism industry.
Carolyn wrote a program for Brighton College on “How to Own and Operate Your Own Concierge Service” and was written up in local newspapers during her career and mentioned in People Magazine by a wedding client.
Her reasons for offering wedding services was driven by the fact that her own wedding planner quit on her two weeks prior to the event stating the need to attend a friends party.
Carolyn is known for her dependability, attention to detailed and dedication to provide excellent service.
Years of Expereince
Along with running her own successful company for 21 years, she was the personal assistant at Signet Restaurant Management Company and a Catering Manager for A Taste of Nantucket Catering for years gaining valuable experience in the world of food and beverage. A highly motivated and creative leader in her field, she sold The Nantucket Concierge in 2015 and became a manager at The Nantucket Hotel & Resort for five years, departing in 2017.
Still maintaining her wedding business, now Nantucket Island Weddings, Carolyn works closely with the bride and groom and their vendors to coordinate the perfect wedding weekend. With over 200 weddings on her resume, she is confident to oversee a flawless event and continues to provide her clients with excellent customer service to insure a memorable experience for all involved.
Carolyn has been fortunate to work with many types of people including local and summer Nantucket residents as well as celebrities, VIP's and major corporations and Fortune 500 Companies.
Her level of professionalism to work with various personalities, island vendors, brides, grooms and their families is a challenge, but one Carolyn thrives on to insure every event runs smoothly.
